MARTS NEWS

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 624 Store Cattle & Suckler Calves at their Special March Sale at Longtown on Tuesday 2nd March, 2010.  Suckler calves met an outstanding trade with all vendors going home very happy. Bigger cattle not quite as buoyant as previous sales but still sold well.  Top price of £965 (x3) for Limousin bullocks from R.M. & P. Armstrong, Slealands, heifers to £930 for Charolais from Messrs W. & A. Forster, The Nook.
